Mykela Kray

I am a second year transfer from Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC), majoring in Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology and minoring in Bioinformatics. My initial interest in science came from my love of horses and caring for equine injuries and illness as a competitive Barrel Racer and horse trainer. I started as an undergraduate research assistant at the Lee Lab in Fall 2013 following an independent Drosophila research poster project through the SRJC MESA program. I have special interests in neuronal stem cells, neuronal death, the thalamus, and therapeutic approaches to nervous system disorders and diseases. Other hobbies include surfing, computer games, muay thai, makeup art, and cooking.
