Edward Kim

Edward Kim is a senior studying MCD Biology and Psychology (B.S.) at UC Santa Cruz, and is leading the A-eta-alpha project. A-eta-alpha is a relatively understudied neuropeptide that results from Amyloid Precursor Protein processing, and has shown to be neurotoxic in vitro. The project goal is to study the effects of A-eta-alpha in vivo usingĀ Drosophila, and to investigate the protein’s role in Alzheimer’s Disease pathogenesis and whether it interacts with A-beta. Edward intends to pursue a career in the biomedical field after graduation.
