Adrienne Maguire

Adrienne Maguire is a 2014 UCSC alumna with a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S. in Biology. Academic curiosities focus on the array of dysfunction that can develop to affect normal cognitive functioning. In the Lee lab she investigates interactions between ABeta and Tau in the pathology of AD and their effects on mitochondrial transport. Adrienne works as a Staff Research Associate II in the UCSC Biology Teaching Labs and as a Unit Coordinator at a residential psychiatric unit. Future goals include furthering our understanding of cognitive functioning, to bring that knowledge to patients as a physician, and to further research disorders that cause personality changes affecting the quality and length of life of those affected. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, and biking, especially near the ocean.
